We believe that excellent cosmetic dentistry should be both beautiful and conservative.

Our goal is to accomplish your desired result with the least amount of tooth alteration that can provide a natural, durable, and predictable outcome. We never assume that every visible tooth needs a veneer, and we do not believe in drilling healthy teeth unnecessarily.

Depending on your starting point and goals, your options may include:

• Teeth whitening: An excellent starting point when the primary concern is tooth color and the shape and alignment of the teeth are already attractive.
• Cosmetic bonding: Tooth-colored material can sometimes repair a small chip, reshape an edge, or close a limited gap without requiring a porcelain restoration.
• Invisalign: Moving the natural teeth may be more conservative when the primary concern is crowding, spacing, rotation, or tooth position.
• Porcelain veneers: Veneers can simultaneously improve tooth shape, proportion, color, symmetry, and certain minor alignment concerns.
• Dental crowns: A crown may be more appropriate when a tooth has already lost significant structure, contains a large restoration, has been severely damaged, or requires more complete protection.

In many cases, the best plan involves more than one option. For example, a patient may benefit from whitening before placing two veneers, or Invisalign may allow us to use fewer and more conservative restorations.

The right plan depends on your teeth—not on a predetermined package.

Minimal-prep and no-prep veneers

Traditional veneers usually require some alteration of the tooth so the final restoration can have the correct shape, position, and thickness. However, not every veneer requires the same amount of preparation.

Our dentists are highly trained in minimal-prep and no-drilling techniques similar to Lumineers. When the tooth’s existing position and shape allow it, we may be able to add porcelain with very little alteration to the natural enamel.

No-prep treatment is not automatically better for every patient. Adding porcelain without creating adequate space can sometimes make a tooth look too thick or bulky. During your consultation, we will explain whether a no-prep, minimal-prep, or traditional veneer approach is most likely to create the result you want while preserving as much healthy tooth structure as possible.

Who provides veneer treatment at Park Smiles?

All of the dentists at Park Smiles have advanced training and experience in cosmetic procedures, including porcelain veneers, cosmetic bonding, crowns, and smile makeovers.

Our team also includes Dr. Ramon, our prosthodontist. A prosthodontist is a dentist who has completed additional formal specialty training in esthetic, restorative, and reconstructive dentistry.

For patients considering several veneers—often more than four—or those with significant tooth wear, older dental work, missing teeth, or changes to their bite, Dr. Ramon’s prosthodontic background can be especially valuable.

That does not mean every veneer patient needs complex specialty treatment. Many patients who want to improve two to four teeth can be treated conservatively by any of our appropriately trained dentists. Our team can help determine which doctor and treatment approach best match the scope of your case.

One of the most important parts of cosmetic dentistry happens before the final veneers are made.

We often begin with a digital iTero scan that allows us to examine your current teeth on a three-dimensional model. We use the scan, clinical photographs, your facial features, and your input to discuss what you like and what you would like to change.

Depending on the number of teeth involved and the complexity of the case, your planning may include:

• A physical mock-up or trial smile

A wax-up or trial smile can help you evaluate important details such as tooth length, shape, proportion, and how much tooth shows when you smile. It also gives you an opportunity to communicate preferences before the final porcelain is created.
